Our Family would love to collect any stories or photos commemorating Dennis’s life from those who knew him.
The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in his name be made to one of the two charities that played a significant part of Dennis’ life.
From a young age, Dennis was captivated by history, especially the Civil War. Summer road trips with our mom were filled with adventures across the country, visiting battlefields and historic sites in the family’s Suburban. His passion for studying and preserving Civil War history only grew, evident in his dedication to Civil War reenactments.
Dennis had a fascination with every cannon he saw and thoroughly read every historical placard. He genuinely valued the preservation and educational lessons these battlefields offered. The National Parks Foundation carefully restores and preserves these treasured sites, allowing us to learn so much about our country's history—something that has been a deep part of Dennis’s passion and our family’s shared memories.

Christopher House and its dedicated staff provided our beloved Dennis, and our entire family, with extraordinary care and compassion during his final days. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine interest in learning who Dennis was brought comfort and peace to all of us during an incredibly difficult time. Every person we encountered offered warmth and support, making the experience as loving and gentle as possible.
In honor of Dennis’s final days and the care he received, his family has made a donation to place a brick bearing his name in the courtyard of this transformative space — a lasting tribute to his memory and the profound care given to him.
